Our 'Inka-redible' A-Z

Last month, we launched our very own Inkaterra Instagram, and to celebrate, we used each letter of the alphabet to highlight the best of Inkaterra. From adventure to preservation, hummingbirds to frogs, we took inquisitive instagrammers on a whistle-stop tour of what makes Inkaterra so ‘Inka-redible’. Read on to explore our most ‘liked’ posts:

A is for…ADVENTURE

Adventure travel is at the heart of the Inkaterra experience. For a truly unique adventure, guests can explore the wonders of the rainforest with the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica. Set in the Madre de Dios region, 95ft above the forest floor, the seven suspension bridges join eight viewing platforms on which a wide variety of nature and wildlife can be spotted.

Brave explorers can enjoy the ultimate Amazonian experience at 90ft above the forest floor, in the Inkaterra Canopy Tree House. Sat high at the end of the Canopy Walkway at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica, winding through the thriving Amazonian tree tops, the Tree House offers guests a night like no other as they sleep by lantern light, with the sounds of the thriving nocturnal rainforest for company.

L is for…LUXURY

Being eco friendly doesn’t mean compromising on luxury. Inkaterra La Casona in Cusco is proud to be the first hotel to be part of Relais Châteaux portfolio of luxury, and the first boutique hotel in Peru.

A place of luxury in the form of a colonial Peruvian manor, exuding authenticity and heritage. Step through the intricately carved emerald door, a portal of the past, and experience why Inkaterra La Casona was chosen as one of National Geographic’s Unique Lodges of the World.

After two years of reconstruction and renovation, Inkaterra La Casona opened as a boutique hotel steeped in history of grandeur.  Peruvian architecture and ambience, immerse those who stay in this Spanish Colonial styled manor reflectant of the ancient Inca civilisation.

Some  well known figures have walked La Casona’s corridors, but perhaps none as prestigious as Simon Bolivar, known as ‘El Libertador’ after his part in the liberation of South America from Spain. Those who sleep within the stone walls, beneath the exposed beams, gain a deeper understanding of the city’s cultural heritage, as well as an immersion in both the illustrious history and vibrant present-day culture.

V is for…VIEW

After watching the sunrise across the Amazonian tree tops, couples can watch it set, as they enjoy the Twilight River experience. This guided afternoon boat ride showcases the enchanting transformation from a diurnal to a nocturnal environment, as animals and birds of the daytime retire, and the Amazon is filled with species adapted to the darkness. As they sail through the jungle, couples can search for nightjars, owls, capybaras and caimans, guided by starlight.
