Education-community > Schools

Local communities are educated on the conservation of natural resources and ecosystems. Inkaterra Asociación seeks to educate the future guardians of the environment, through practical workshops on conservation for schoolchildren in Machu Picchu (Cusco), Tambopata (Madre de Dios) and Cabo Blanco (Piura).

Practical workshops are an essential tool to raise awareness among children on environmental care. Knowledge and fun meet through games, exhibitions, handcrafts and experiments that contribute to their upbringing as ambassadors of environmental care within their homes.

Inkaterra Asociación annually organizes environmental workshops during summer vacations at Machu Picchu Pueblo. In 2017 the 11th course was organized, with the assistance of 70 children from nearby communities such as Playa Sawayacu, Lucmabamba and Collpani. In Madre de Dios, a team of researchers offers environmental education workshops to children in primary school and high school in Puerto Maldonado. In Cabo Blanco (Piura), this educational program is currently in development.
