INKATERRA LA CASONA WINS
THE ANDREW HARPER EDITOR’S CHOICE AWARD

We are thrilled to announce Inkaterra La Casona was selected among the world’s best hotels in Andrew Harper Editor’s Choice Awards of 2022. According to the Hideaway Report, the new accolade in the ‘Remarkable Returns’ category, places the Inkaterra property in Cusco among the most luxurious in the world due to its “commitment to personal service to the tranquil atmosphere provided.”

“This 11-room hideaway makes guests feel as if they have their own private mansion in Cusco,” praises Andrew Harper’s editorial staff, who, for over 40 years, have traveled the globe incognito to discover exceptional hideaways and experiences. “The hotel has preserved architectural and decorative details from the building’s 500-year history–our suite had original frescoes and a woodburning fireplace–but I appreciated modern comforts such as the freestanding tub and heated floors. After a day out and about, it was a pleasure to return to a butler-drawn bubble bath. And not least, the intimate restaurant served delicious dishes at both breakfast and dinner.”

The first boutique hotel in Cusco and the first Relais & Châteaux property in Peru, Inkaterra La Casona had Spanish Conquistador Diego de Almagro and ‘Libertador’ Simón Bolívar among its illustrious guests. The hotel was previously named the best hotel in Central and South America in Travel + Leisure’s 2018 World’s Best Awards. The 16th century manor house was harmoniously restored by Denise Koechlin over the course of five years, reflecting the intersection of cultures and traditions across centuries.

CABO BLANCO WITHIN YOUR REACH
AT THE CONDOMINIUM BY INKATERRA

The iconic Cabo Blanco, a great historical fishing destination where Ernest Hemingway and Hollywood legends flocked for sun and tropical sea, is now within reach with the Condominium by Inkaterra.

“I invite you to share this spectacular landscape of ancient sails and extraordinary surfing and to enjoy the elegance of nature,” says Inkaterra founder José Koechlin. The condominiums feature stunning views of the seaside and Cabo Blanco’s millenary tradition of artisanal fishing sailboats. For select beach houses, Inkaterra will provide an exclusive service of regular maintenance under the concept of private villas.

Home owners will have access to the Inkaterra Sail & Surf Club which features an exclusive waterfront area. Facilities are designed for a vast array of water sports and beach experiences, including scuba diving, sport fishing, kitesurf and surfing amid world-class waves.

An environment of authenticity, luxury and comfort, the Inkaterra Condominium merges an elegant and efficient design inspired by local cultures and native materials with natural desert surroundings. Celebrating the great diversity of the Peruvian North, great rock walls define its landscape. Inkaterra Condominium is set among native mesquite trees, sand dunes in the horizon, and the legendary ocean which still holds two world records: the historic 1560lb black marlin landed by Alfred Glassell, and the 435lb bigeye tuna.

INKATERRA ORNITHOLOGIST NOÉ HUARACA

Inkaterra Asociación’s lead ornithologist Noé Huaraca was profiled by Somos Magazine (El Comercio). In addition to his work at the Bird Monitoring Program, which includes the Inkaterra bird banding station, Noé is a gifted artist and photographer. Noé became the first Peruvian scientific illustrator trained by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. “For him, nature drawing is an essential tool to study fauna as it allows to portray with accurate precision all the features of the most elusive species,” writes Luis Miranda. “Working in a bird banding station also allows Noe to behold the morphology of birds in full detail.”

Meanwhile, in its list naming the ‘5 Coolest Eco-Hotels in South America to Escape the Winter Cold,’ Travel Noire highlighted Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica: “Dubbed as the world’s most ‘unexpected 5-star hotel’, Inkaterra is an unimaginable destination.
