COMING SOON: THE SHORT FILMS FROM
WERNER HERZOG’S WORKHOP IN PERU

Stay tuned for screening dates, as Inkaterra will soon share a selection of the short features produced in May 2018, during Werner Herzog’s creative workshop in Madre de Dios. One of the boldest filmmakers in cinema history, Herzog grasped the essence of the Peruvian landscape through his artistry, in the cult films Aguirre: the Wrath of God (1972) and Fitzcarraldo (1982) – both co-produced by Inkaterra founder José Koechlin, whose memory of his long-lasting friendship with Werner Herzog is available here.

From the spark to the editing, Werner Herzog guided 48 young filmmakers from 28 countries. Their mission: to produce, in only 11 days and within the conceptual framework of “Fever Dreams in the Jungle”, a film in the rainforest. One of the most fascinating creative experiences in Peru, this selection of shorts delivers a prism revealing the essence of Madre de Dios.
