Born in Puerto Maldonado in November 1982, Alan was raised surrounded by flora and fauna. He has lived most of his life in Madre de Dios but has had the chance to visit other interesting cities in and out of the country. From Lima, the capital, all the way to Tokyo Japan, Alan has been learning from different customs and cultures, appreciating every single one of them. Due to Alan’s passion with nature he has always looked for work related with conservation and environment. Having studied Tourism at the “Jorge Basadre” Institute in Puerto Maldonado, he currently works as an environmental Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica.
Lizbeth Chavez was born in Cusco and from a young age she had a particular interest in books about the jungle. After finishing school Lizbeth decided to travel to Madre de Dios with the idea of spending her vacations in one of the places she had always read about. Since these vacations eight years have passed and Lizbeth is still enjoying the rainforest. In order to learn more about the wildlife in the area she became an Official Tour Guide. Lizbeth works at Inkaterra since 2008, beginning her career as a receptionist where she polished her skills and learned about conservation. After a couple of years she joined the Explorer Guides team at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica Lodge. Now we can find her at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion sharing her knowledge about the rainforest with the travelers.
Cesar Carlos was born in Manu, area surrounded by native communities, in Madre de Dios. It was there that Carlos fell in love with nature and understood how important it was to protect his home, the rainforest.After finishing school Carlos moved from Manu to Cusco to be an Official Tourism Guide, studying at the Jorge Basadre Institute. He got his degree in 2002 and began working as a freelance at the Manu Nation Park at the Tambopata National Reserve; where he learned about medicinal plants, birds, and insects.Carlos is passionate about what he does. Gabriel was born in Puerto Maldonado. After finishing school he enrolled in the army, but after a year he decided to study mechanics. While studying his career he discovered a new love: nature, and it was because of this that he decided to become an Official Tourism Guide. Soon after finishing his studies he began working as a freelance for different lodges learning about flora and fauna, but above all, a passion for medicinal plants and birding. In order to share his passion you can find Gabriel at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, always with a pair of binoculars and a smile on his face.
Sonia Ruth Herrera was born in Puerto Maldonado (Madre de Dios). She studied tourism in Puerto Maldonado for three years and has worked as a tour guide since 2006 for various tourism companies. In 2009 Sonia worked at the Manu National Park as volunteer, and also joined the Frankfurt Society where she improved her flora and fauna knowledge. For Sonia nature is a passion and sharing it a commitment.
