  Alwyn H. Gentry (1945-1993)
    Field botanist and researcher from the Missouri Botanical Garden, famous for his encyclopedia ¨Tropical Plant Knowledge.¨ Since 1990, he has visited RESERVA AMAZONICA many times and collected several botanical species that are currently found in Missouri and at Lima's Museum of Natural History.
     
  Dr. Edward. O. Wilson
    Research pioneer of social insects and the father of Sociobiology. Curator at Harvard's museum and author of the revolutionary book ¨Sociobiology: the new synthesis¨(1975). Identified John Tobin's ant collection at RESERVA AMAZONICA and determined that it established the world record for variety of ant species.
     
  Dr. William E. Duellman
    PhD and Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan. Dedicated to the conservation of herpetology, and researcher of taxonomy and biogeography of Geotropical frogs and tropical communities of herpetofauna.
     
  Dr. Oliver L. Phillips
    Leeds University, United Kingdom
Studied Geography at Leeds University, England. Visited RESERVA AMAZONICA on several occasions between 1994 and 2001 to conduct field studies for the 'Amazon Forest Inventory Network' project, in which he calculates the amount of carbon captured by an evolving forest.
     
 

Dr. Percy Núñez Vargas

   

Biologist at Cusco´s San Antonio Abad National University. One of most knowledgeable botanists of the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary. He began his visits to RESERVA AMAZONICA in 1998 with Alwyn Gentry and has over 20,000 registered botanical collections.

     
  Dr. Gerardo Lamas Muller
    Head of the Zoology Department at Lima's San Marcos National University. Peruvian entomologist and taxonomist at San Marcos National University's Museum of Natural History. Currently, he is cataloging Neotropical butterfly species. He conducted the inventory of Lepidoptera at the RESERVA AMAZONICA.
     
  Dr. James Patton
    PhD from the University of Arizona.
Renowned researcher on evolutionary theory of mammals, focusing on Neotropical rodents and marsupials. Research conducted in Mexico, French Guinea, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and others. Visited RESERVA AMAZONICA continually between 1979 and 1986.
     
     
  Dr. Wilfredo Arizabal
    Biologist at Cusco´s San Antonio Abad National University. Specialist in Herpetological communities. Conducted the study 'DNA on Amphibians and Reptiles' for the University of Texas at Arlington. Project work with TreeS, Peruvian Amazon Research Institute, Amazon Biodiversity Project.
     
  Dr. Ned K. Johnson (1932-2003)
    Biology professor at the University of California and ornithological researcher for the Zoological Museum of Vertebrates. Visited RESERVA AMAZONICA in 1982. Arduous research of South American birds; considered an owl expert. Most important contribution includes the description of the Poecilotriccus.
   

 

  Linda Trueb, USA
    PhD from the University of Kansas. Professor and researcher for the Natural History Museum's Herpetology department. Visited RESERVA AMAZONICA for the first time in 1986 and returned as part of the research team of the BIOTROP Project, financed by the National Geographic Society.
