How to help:
- Collect used batteries and take them to authorized centers or organized recycling campaigns – In Lima: Wong, Metro, Surco City Hall with the campaign “Ponte Pilas”.
- Use rechargeable batteries or appliances that use alternative energy (Ex. Calculators with solar panels, motion sensor watches)
- In communities of Inkaterra, batteries are mixed with concrete and used as a material in building maintenance works. Batteries must be covered with a coating that neutralizes and avoids filtration of toxic waste.
