GLOBAL WARMING

Global temperature has been rising steadily for the last several years. Among other greenhouse gases, there is now more carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere than there has been in the past 650,000 years.

CO2 stays in the atmosphere acting as a warm blanket holding in the heat, hence, the name “global warming.” This phenomenon has caused irregular weather patterns, melting glaciers and has forced plants and animals to leave their natural habitats.

Recently, alarming events that are consistent with scientific predictions about the effects of climate change have become more and more commonplace.
